Malha Depot
The Malha Depot is the central operations, maintenance, and stabling facility being constructed for the Jerusalem Light Rail’s Blue Line; it will also serve the Green Line upon its launch.
Spanning approximately 70 dunams with about 40,000 square meters of built-up area, the facility is designed across two levels. It comprises roughly 10 kilometers of tracks, including stabling and parking lines, maintenance garages and workshops, washing facilities, operational and control systems, offices, and service buildings.
Upon completion, the depot is expected to accommodate a fleet of up to 132 light rail vehicles and serve as a key component of the Blue Line’s operational infrastructure. The project integrates complex engineering design, efficient land use within a dense urban environment, and the incorporation of green spaces on the facility’s upper level.
